The Foundation Board, with the advice of arts professionals or technical and subject matter, policy, and program experts, will identify potential organizations and individuals that meet the objectives of the Foundation. In reaching funding decisions, the Board will factor in finances and governance for the organizations, and project budgets for the individuals.
Leslie Kaufman
FOUNDER
Leslie Kaufman is the President of the Board of Directors. Ms. Kaufman is an arts professional who has a longstanding active interest in the visual arts, animal welfare, and the environment. She is the Founder, President, and unpaid Director of Philadelphia Sculptors, Inc. She established and directed the Burlington County College Sculpture Garden in Pemberton, NJ for 20 years, was an adjunct professor of art for 30 years, and is an arts writer and producing sculptor. Ms. Kaufman is a Board member of the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, Inc. and is an active volunteer in the Museum’s visual arts program and environmental center. She received her BA in English cum laude from Colgate University, MEd from Teachers College, Columbia University, and MFA in Visual Arts from Vermont College.
Bruce Russell
FOUNDER
Bruce Russell is the Vice President of the Board. He has over 35 years experience in animal welfare and environmental protection. Mr. Russell has experience in running a public museum and environmental center. He is the President of the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, Inc. in Havre de Grace, MD. He is a retired senior Coast Guard officer, having served for 20 years. He is also a retired business owner, JS&A Environmental Services, Inc., and sole proprietor of a successful international consulting practice specializing in marine environmental and nuclear safety issues. He is an honors graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (BS in Engineering,) Wesleyan University (MS, Physical Science) and University of Michigan (MS Natural Resources Management) and was a US Congressional fellow.
